INTRODUCTION
Physically, each day resembles another. The sun rises; the sun sets. There is a monotony to time. Yet Judaism has laws that have as their principal goal to "set apart" certain days, certain dates, in order to introduce holiness, Kedushah, into the world, and into our lives. To enter the realm of the holy is to go beyond the physical into the realm of the Spirit (or emotion).
Jews have holy time, holy space and holy relationships. How do Jews achieve that? With ritual, by prayer, and through joy.
Each life event is celebrated using these three instruments of encounter and sanctification.
